Edmonton BOSS Air service
A truck-mounted compressor does not operate in isolation. Air delivery can depend on the vehicle PTO, hydraulic supply, engine speed controls, electrical interlocks, cooling airflow, plumbing and the compressor package itself. Airtek approaches the service call with that complete installation in mind.
We work on commercial BOSS equipment used by mobile mechanics, tire-service fleets, utilities, municipalities, contractors and heavy-equipment support crews in Edmonton and the surrounding region. The goal is a clear diagnosis, an explained repair path and dependable air when the truck reaches the next job.
Airtek Systems is an independent repair provider. Service availability depends on the model, installation, condition and parts requirements of the equipment.
Built around the service vehicle
A BOSS compressor complaint may begin with an airend, piston pump, inlet control or separator issue. It can also begin upstream with hydraulic flow, a PTO drive, a belt or coupling, a cooler fan, a solenoid, wiring or a vehicle interlock. We separate the symptom from the cause before recommending parts.
Equipment we assess
The model and serial number matter. BOSS has used different compressor, control and drive arrangements across current and earlier product generations.
BOSSAIR 85 · BOSSAIR 185 · 185G+ · Ford 4×4 Direct Connect
PTO and vehicle-driven packages that preserve deck space. Service evaluation may include the airend, inlet and pressure controls, receiver and separation circuit, remote cooling package, B-CAN controls and connection to the chassis drive system.
Infinity 35 · legacy Infinity 45/60 · Infinity 80
Above-deck continuous-air packages supplied by the truck hydraulic circuit. Common inspection areas include hydraulic delivery, motor and solenoid operation, oil level, coolers and fans, inlet control, blowdown and air/oil separation.
BA435 · BA440 · BA502
Compact intermittent-duty compressors used where service-body space and weight matter. Diagnosis can cover hydraulic engagement, pressure-switch response, valves and rings, lubrication, cooling, air leaks and pressure recovery.
Bullet 2 · Bullet G 70 · Bullet G 70 + Generator
Skid, truck-bed and wheel-mounted air packages with a dedicated engine. Compressor service may involve belts, coolers, inlet controls, separator elements, blowdown components, oil circuits and abnormal temperature or pressure conditions.
MechanX 150 · MechanX 250
Mobile packages combining piston compressed air with welding and generator functions. We can isolate compressor-side concerns and evaluate how engine speed, drive condition, unloading and shared-package operation affect air performance.
DUS 210/250 · iT4 and FT4 generations
Higher-output rotary-screw systems used for vacuum excavation, construction, municipal work and other demanding mobile applications. Intake, cooling, capacity control, separation, B-CAN faults and integrated generator operation can all inform the diagnosis.
A faster first assessment
BOSS packages vary by model, year, output and installation. Good intake information helps our service team determine whether the complete vehicle, a removable compressor package or additional documentation will be needed.
Start a service requestSymptoms worth investigating
The same symptom can have different causes on a hydraulic piston unit, a PTO rotary screw or a multifunction package. These are starting points for diagnosis, not parts guesses.
Power supply, vehicle or B-CAN interlocks, hydraulic engagement, pressure controls, wiring and engine-side conditions may need to be separated.
Air demand, leaks, intake restriction, low drive speed, worn belts, control faults, piston valves or rings can reduce useful output.
Oil level, cooler restriction, fan operation, airflow, thermal controls and contaminated oil circuits are common inspection points.
Overfilling, oil-return restriction, separator condition, leaks, operating pressure and shaft sealing may contribute to oil carryover.
A unit that will not unload, blows a relief valve or retains sump pressure may have a regulator, inlet, solenoid, switch, orifice or separator problem.
Incorrect flow, pressure or oil condition; a restricted return; leaking hoses; cooling issues; or motor and solenoid faults can affect the compressor.
Belt tension, pulley alignment, bearings, coupling condition, mounting and airend or pump wear should be checked before damage progresses.
On MechanX, Bullet generator and DUS packages, compressor behaviour may be linked to engine speed, shared drive loads or control-system faults.
A clear repair path
We document the complaint, test the relevant systems and explain what the equipment needs before the repair moves forward.
Confirm the BOSS model, serial number, installation type, operating hours, maintenance history and reported behaviour.
Review fluid condition, filters, cooling, plumbing, wiring, controls, drive components and visible installation concerns.
Reproduce the complaint where safe, check pressure and temperature behaviour, and isolate compressor, vehicle or auxiliary-system causes.
Complete the approved work, run the system through its operating cycle and review the findings with your team.
Service questions
Start with the model and serial number. We will use the equipment details and reported symptom to help define the next step.
We assess current and legacy commercial BOSS units, including earlier BA piston, Infinity hydraulic rotary-screw, Bullet and DUS configurations. Repair feasibility depends on condition, technical information and parts availability.
Bring the complete vehicle when the symptom may involve the PTO, hydraulic circuit, chassis interlocks, engine-speed control, installed wiring or air-system plumbing. Contact us first if the compressor package can be removed independently.
We can review the displayed fault, operating conditions and related compressor systems. Send the exact message or a clear photo of the display with the model and serial number so we can prepare for the assessment.
Stop operating the compressor until the cause is understood. Do not repeatedly reset a shutdown. Record the fault, check for obvious leaks or blocked cooling airflow without opening a hot or pressurized system, and arrange service.
Yes, we can assess compressor concerns on MechanX, Bullet generator and DUS multifunction packages. If the issue is isolated to the engine, welder, generator or vehicle system, we will explain the appropriate next step.
Provide the BOSS model, serial number, unit hours, truck details, photos of the identification plate and affected component, plus any part number visible on the existing item. Serial-specific confirmation helps avoid incorrect parts.
We can review the model, hours, duty and operating environment to plan appropriate compressor maintenance. Mobile units working in dust, winter road contamination or restricted installations may need more frequent inspection.
