Independent compressor service · Edmonton, Alberta
Practical diagnostics, repair and maintenance for KTC compact and industrial rotary-screw compressors. Airtek works on COMPACK, KME, KLE, BCT and related KTC equipment serving shops, production floors and mobile work.
Independent repair support. No factory affiliation or authorization is implied.
Service for KTC packages that place an industrial rotary-screw system into a small footprint, including tank-mounted and dryer-equipped arrangements.
Mechanical, electrical and control-system troubleshooting for belt-drive, direct-drive and variable-speed KTC configurations.
Shop and field-service coordination for commercial and industrial compressor owners in Edmonton and the surrounding service area.
01 · KTC service
KTC’s compact compressors combine the air end, oil circuit, controls, cooling and, on some packages, a receiver and dryer in a tightly integrated assembly. Effective repair starts by treating the machine as a complete system: operating conditions, controller history, temperature, pressure, airflow and air treatment all matter.
Built around the fault
We work from the reported symptom and operating data to identify the failure path, then explain the repair scope before work proceeds.
Air-end condition, Poly-V belts, couplings, bearings, valves, separator system, hoses, seals and vibration points.
Oil condition, filters, cooler cleanliness, fan operation, thermostatic control, temperature behaviour and signs of condensate.
K-Tronic controller information, pressure sensing, load/unload operation, VSD faults, drains, dryer performance and receiver-side concerns.
02 · Equipment families
Model names vary by generation and market. The model and serial plate remain the best starting point for parts identification, especially where a Canadian-market BCT designation appears instead of, or alongside, KTC’s COMPACK, KME or KLE naming.
Compact rotary screw
Compact oil-injected screw packages in grounded, trolley and receiver-mounted arrangements. Service may involve direct-drive or belt-drive components, load/unload controls, K-Tronic electronics and the temperature management used for intermittent operation.
Professional and industrial
Belt-drive and direct-drive screw compressors built for regular commercial and industrial air demand, including fixed-speed, variable-speed, tank-mounted and dryer-equipped configurations.
Regional and catalogue naming
Professional and industrial packages found under North American BCT designations and KLE series names, including generations no longer shown in every current catalogue. We use the full nameplate and configuration to separate belt-drive, direct-drive, fixed-speed and VSD service requirements.
Portable and heavy industrial
KPM compact portable screw units and larger single- or two-stage DCT systems require different intake, cooling, drive and control checks. Share the exact package details so Airtek can confirm the appropriate service path.
03 · Faster service intake
Compact KTC packages can look similar while using different drives, controls, voltages, receivers or dryers. A clear nameplate photo helps us start with the right equipment record.
04 · Common symptoms
These symptoms are starting points, not remote diagnoses. Several KTC subsystems can produce the same complaint, so operating checks should come before parts are selected.
Cooling airflow, cooler condition, fan operation, oil level and condition, thermostatic control and room ventilation may all need inspection.
Air demand, intake control, belts or coupling, leakage, minimum-pressure operation, sensing and air-end output are evaluated together.
Separator condition, scavenge return, operating pressure, oil level and temperature can affect oil carryover on an oil-injected screw system.
Poly-V belt condition and tension, pulley alignment, mounts, coupling condition, bearings and fan contact are common inspection points.
Recorded alarms, pressure signals, power supply, sensors, inverter status and operating parameters help narrow the electrical or control issue.
Short cycling, low operating temperature, drains, receiver condition, dryer performance and filtration may contribute to water or contamination downstream.
05 · Repair process
Airtek keeps the service path straightforward, from the first equipment details through testing after the repair.
We confirm the KTC model, serial number, package configuration, service history and reported operating symptom.
The technician checks the relevant mechanical, lubrication, cooling, electrical, control and air-treatment systems.
We outline the findings and repair scope, then complete the approved work using parts selected for the identified machine.
The compressor is run and checked for pressure, temperature, loading behaviour, leaks and the original complaint where conditions allow.
06 · KTC repair FAQ
Answers to common service questions for commercial and industrial KTC compressor owners.
Airtek can assess compact and industrial KTC rotary-screw equipment including COMPACK, KME, KLE and BCT families, plus KPM portable and DCT industrial equipment. The exact service path depends on the model, package configuration, condition and parts availability.
BCT-P and BCT-B names appear on North American professional and industrial KTC packages. Send the complete model, serial number and photos rather than relying on the family name alone, because drive type, receiver, dryer and VSD configurations can differ.
Yes. Please record the complete message or code before resetting the machine. Airtek can use that information with power, sensor, pressure, temperature and operating checks to determine whether the fault is in the controller circuit, inverter, compressor system or site conditions.
Yes. Tank-mounted and dryer-equipped KTC packages should be assessed as integrated systems. Include the dryer model, drain behaviour and any air-quality complaint when booking so the service intake covers more than the compressor cabinet.
Repeated short runs or operation below normal temperature can allow condensate to remain in an oil-injected compressor. Drain, dryer and site conditions can create separate moisture problems. The operating pattern and temperature system need to be checked before deciding on corrective work.
Stop and review the operating manual if there is a shutdown, high temperature, oil loss, severe vibration, electrical smell or unusual mechanical noise. Continuing to run a machine with an active fault can expand the damage. Call Airtek with the model and warning details for next-step guidance.
